As many many of you know, Kendall was diagnosed with a level 4 Glioblastoma after having a seizure. On Feb 28th of this year. He had emergency brain surgery to remove as much of the tumor as possible a week later. He has now started chemo and radiation and over the summer will be starting another wave of treatment called Optune. Kendall and I, along with many members of his team from work are participating in this Brain Cancer Ealk as a wa to help raise money for research. This is important for Kendall so that the medical team at Swedish (we are working with UW, but they still work together) can come up with new clinical trials that potentially Kendall could be eligible for. Maybe helping to raise funds, we can help the medical team find a cure so that Kendall and anyone else with this kind of tumor can live long and healthy lives.
We are participating in the Seattle Brain Cancer Walk this year. Proceeds from the Walk support ongoing brain cancer research and clinical trials in the Pacific Northwest. The physicians and specialists at The Ben & Catherine Ivy Center for Advanced Brain Tumor Treatment work with regional experts in the field but collaborate nationally with other progressive institutions. Through this collaborative effort and with your help, we will make great strides for patients with brain cancer everywhere.
Here are two ways that you can help us get one step closer to a cure for brain cancer:
1. Walk with me and give hope to those undergoing treatment and help inspire the community into action.
2. Help me reach my fundraising goal by making a donation. Click on the DONATE NOW button to the right to show your support!
I'd be so grateful if you would join or sponsor me. Together, we can end brain cancer.
