Swamp Things

Welcome to Team Swamp Things!

2019 will be the FIFTH year Swamp Things has participated in SummeRun to raise money for ovarian cancer research. We started in honor of our friend Lisa Anne Glomb who was planning to walk in the event in 2015. The team as a group chose the name Swamp Things to fit with Lisa's artistic spirit and love of campy horror films and antiheros coming out of the dark.

The original Swamp Thing (DC Comics) fought against evil and searched for a means to transform back to human form. Much like those touched by ovarian cancer.

Others we honor:

Nancy Lee (survivor)
Linda Withington
Anne Culver

Please support us by joining our team and running, walking, or fundraising along with us! If you can't make it, please make a donation for the team or for one of the team members to help us reach our goals. Thank you so much. Welcome Friends,

Our wonderful team is participating in the 2019 Swedish SummeRun & Walk for Ovarian Cancer. The SummeRun & Walk provides a powerful day of support and hope to people who are battling ovarian cancer and the people who love them. Proceeds from the run and walk will support the life-saving work of the Rivkin Center, a Seattle-based non-profit that has become a principle catalyst for national and international research efforts aimed at finding solutions to ovarian cancer.

Since its establishment in 1996, the Rivkin Center has awarded over $11 million in research grants to scientific investigators around the world, making the organization one of the largest private nonprofit funders of ovarian cancer research in the United States. The Rivkin Center also supports education and awareness for ovarian cancer and breast cancer, and early detection high-risk screening.

Please consider joining us this year by donating or signing up for our team. Every person who walks/runs, donates or volunteers is helping make a positive impact on ovarian cancer research, education, awareness, and early detection.

  • You can join my team at this year's Walk on Sunday, July 14 by clicking the "JOIN TEAM" button on the right.
  • You can also help by donating. It's easy to make a gift by clicking the "DONATE NOW" button on the right.

Thank you for your support.
