Allisa Mensin (:
This year I am participating in the 2019 Swedish SummeRun/Walk for ovarian cancer for the 4th year! It will start at 8am on Sunday, July 14 at the Swedish First Hill campus.
As most of you know, I was diagnosed with ovarian cancer in March of 2014 and went through chemotherapy that following October-December. It's been about 4 and a half years since I've been in remission and I now have graduated from seeing my oncologist from every 3 months to every 6 months! At the end of the year, when I hit 5 years, I will officially be CANCER FREE!
Recently, I got involved with the Marsha Rivkin Center and had the honor to be featured in a video for their annual auction back in November 2017! I am hoping to get more involved and to share my story with young women who might be going through the same thing. The SummeRun is so much more than a 5k. This is a chance to have survivors like myself share their story to spread awareness, not to mention funding research that can save a life. A life like mine. A life like your moms, your sister, grandma, cousin, aunt, girlfriend and/or friend.
Having you join my team or donating will mean so much more than you can imagine.
Thank you all so much for your continuous support! My family and I appreciate it so very much :)
