Welcome to My Personal Page
In October, we lost a beautiful soul and woman, Christine McDade. She was a wife, mother, grandmother, ddaughter, aunt, teacher and my daughter's mother-in-law. Garth & I are grateful we had Chris in our lives for the short time we knew her. So, to honor Chris and the many other women who have passed from, or are battling ovarian cancer we are joining Chris's husband and family in the walk this year.
We are participating in the Swedish SummeRun & Walk this year. Proceeds from the run and walk will support the life-saving work of the Rivkin Center. The Rivkin Center is a Seattle-based non-profit that has become a principle catalyst for national and international research efforts aimed at finding solutions to ovarian cancer.
Rivkin Center Mission & Vision
To improve women's health by helping them prevent, detect early, and survive ovarian and breast cancer. We envision a world where women live longer and healthier lives because cancers are prevent, caught early, or cured.
Since its establishment in 1996, the Rivkin Center has awarded over $11 million in research grants to scientific investigators around the world, and also supports ovarian and breast cancer education and high-risk early detection screening.
Here are two ways that you can help us get one step closer to a cure for ovarian cancer:
1. Walk or run with me and give hope to those undergoing treatment and help inspire the community into action.
2. Help me reach my fundraising goal by making a donation. Click on the "DONATE NOW" button to the right to show your support!
I'd be so grateful if you would join or sponsor me. Together, we can end ovarian cancer.
Do not forget to check out the amazing work done by the Rivkin Center - www.rivkin.org.
