Ways to Support the Walk

We were hoping this year would be different and we could walk side by side, but our top priority is the safety of our participants. Join us again this May virtually and Walk Your Way!

And while our Seattle Brain Cancer Walk experience may look different this year, our mission does not, we will still need support to help advance brain cancer research at The Ben & Catherine Ivy Center for Advanced Brain Tumor Treatment. 

Registering for the Walk 

How do I register for the Walk?

Register as a virtual walker online at braincancerwalk.org.  Registration is complimentary. The first 150 registrants will receive a Seattle Brain Cancer Walk adult sized face mask. (Two per household)

Donating to the Walk

Support the Walk by donating to yourself and receive a badge on your fundraising page, donate to an individual or donate to a team.

I already registered, can I still donate and receive a badge on my fundraising page?
Yes, to self-donate, head to your fundraising page and select donate now.

Sending a check? How can I make sure the check that I am mailing in is credited to my team?
Please include the name of the participant you are supporting in the memo area of the check. If you are supporting a team and not an individual, please include the team name in the memo area, and be aware that team donations are credited to the team captain for bookkeeping purposes. You may also make a general donation to the Brain Cancer Walk.

My donation didn’t go through, or isn’t showing up on the webpage. What should I do?
Please be patient. Donations typically take a couple of hours to show up on the website. If you have already waited to see if it will display, contact us! We want to make sure all of your hard work and generous donations show up on your page within a reasonable amount of time.

My donation was applied to the wrong person. What should I do?
If your donation is showing on the website, but it is not credited to the intended participant, please email or call us, and we will be happy to fix it (seattlebraincancerwalk@swedish.org or 206-320-5260).

Fundraising for the Walk

I have someone who would like to donate?
Either send them an email with a link to your fundraising page and they select Donate Now or have them go braincancerwalk.org and look up your name or your team name.

I have someone who wants to make a donation but not via the website?
Prior to and following the event, donations can be mailed to:

What is and how do I access my Participant Center?
The Participant Center is the online portal where you can check your fundraising progress, send email solicitations and thank yous, and update your Personal Fundraising Page and your Team Fundraising Page (if you are a captain). Step by step instructions for accessing your Participant Center 

How do I send an email from my Participant Center?
Log in to your Participant Center and click the "email" tab to access the email functionality and then follow these step by step instructions.

Where can I make a donation or turn in pledges?
Donations can be made either online or by mail.

Please download and complete the contribution tracking form and mail in or drop off with donations. 

My donor would like to donate cash?
Please complete the printable donation form and send with cash. A name and address is needed for donor to receive a tax receipt.

My employer would like to support the Walk, what can they do?
Your employer can donate to you directly or become a sponsor of this event. Being a sponsor, they will have the opportunity to publicize their company to our estimated 3,000 participants while supporting brain cancer research and clinical trials. To learn more about our sponsorships, click here.  

Facebook Fundraiser Tool

How do I use Facebook to fundraise for the Seattle Brain Cancer Walk?
Sign in to your Seattle Brain Cancer Walk website Participant Center. Click here for directions on how to sign into your Participant Center.  There you will find a "Create Facebook Fundraiser" tool – just follow the prompts and your Seattle Brain Cancer Walk page will be connected to Facebook. From there you can easily share your fundraiser with your followers!
